Music Financial Assistance

Music Financial Assistance

The Encore Music Education Foundation, Inc. offers full and partial
scholarships and subsidies to help students access music education.
Applications are accepted throughout the year, with priority given to
students from New England. Students outside New England are welcome to
apply, and applicants do not need to attend Encore Music Academy and
Recording Studios.

Complete the Financial Aid and Subsidy Application to tell us about the
music instruction you’re seeking and your financial circumstances.
Assistance depends on available funding. Awards may be reviewed each
session.

While receiving financial assistance, students are expected to attend
and participate regularly. Periodic reports from their instructor will
be required to help the Foundation review their progress and continued
support needs.

2027 Senior Scholarship

Taking the next step toward a future in music is an exciting milestone.

graduating high school seniors and high school graduates studying an
instrument or voice who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in music
performance, music education, sound recording and engineering, music
business administration, or musical theater at an accredited two- or
four-year college.

You do not need to attend Encore to apply, and there are no geographic
restrictions. Consideration includes musical involvement and
achievement, academic standing, extracurricular activities, and
recommendations. Preference is given to graduating seniors entering
their first year of college and applicants who have not previously
received a scholarship award.

Apply online by March 31, 2027. Your application must include a personal
essay, a current transcript, and a recommendation addressing your
musical achievement, character, and commitment. You may also upload an
optional MP3 audio recording or video showcasing your talent. A Google
account is required to upload your materials; nothing needs to be
mailed.

Recipients will be notified in May. Scholarship funds are paid directly
to the college after proof of full-time enrollment and a paid tuition
bill for the first semester of the 2027–2028 academic year are provided.
Awards are for one year, and students may apply again in subsequent
years.

2019 Senior Scholarship Winner

The Encore Music Education Foundation, Inc. was proud to award this year’s Senior Scholarship award to Encore student, Anina Lawrence! We can’t wait to see what she does next as she enters Berklee College of Music in Boston in the Fall!

Check out what Anina had to say about her award:

I wasn’t really expecting to win the scholarship, since there are so many deserving students. I feel so grateful to Encore, not just for having been awarded the scholarship, but for providing me and countless other students with a space to learn and grow as a musician. I believe that music really is a universal language, and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to learn that language through Encore over the last three years. At Berklee, I’m going to be studying several aspects of music— one I’m looking forward to most is learning how to arrange and compose using programs like Logic and ProTools on a Macbook, which I can do thanks to the scholarship money!

*To be an eligible applicant for the scholarship, you must be a graduating high school senior or high school graduate studying a musical instrument or voice, with the intention to pursue an undergraduate degree in music performance, music education, sound recording and engineering, music business administration, or musical theatre at a two or four-year accredited institution of higher learning.
